At 22 years of age, producer Diego Abarca owns and manages Finca San Calletano and micromill Alto San Juan. With a strong focus on quality, Diego has lifted his specialty grade production from 10 bags to 108 bags in just a few years which has dramatically improved the profitability of his farm.

Preferring the flavour profile of the fully washed process, Diego is able to streamline the quality control by focusing only on this process and separating microlots based on variety separations and day‐lot harvesting. Diego’s quality‐focus approach results in a more sustainable business ensuring coffee production at Finca San Calletano into the future.
